ACTION: Action cards go to the discard pile as soon as they are played. Their effects are immediate or have a limited duration.

AQUATIC: Cards in the Aquatic category can only be attacked by cards in the Aquatic, Flying, and Shooter categories.

AWAKE: The effect is activated once, when the card has lost all of its fatigue counters.

CARNIVORE: Carnivore cards can be activated to feed if there are creatures in the opponent’s discard pile. When they do, they devour the target creature from the opponent’s discard pile and regain life equal to the devoured creature’s life points. A devoured creature is placed face down in the discard pile and cannot be returned to either player’s hand or deck for the rest of the game.

CREATURE: Creature cards are placed on the warfront. They have an attack value that indicates the damage they cause in combat and a life value that indicates the amount of damage they must receive to be eliminated.

CRUSADER: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Crusader category.

DEBUT: The effect is activated once, the first time you play the card during the game.

EFFORT: Place the indicated number of fatigue counters on the card to activate its effect.

EQUIPMENT: Cards in the equipment category can be linked to other card types to grant them their effects. If the linked card is removed, the equipment is also removed.

EVENT: Event category cards remain in play once they have been played, and their effects persist each round as long as the card remains in play.

FLYING: Cards in the Flying category can only be attacked by cards in the Flying or Shooter category.

FURY: The effect is triggered every time the card takes damage.

HIT: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Hit category.

HUMAN: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Human category.

INVESTIGATE: Look at the indicated number of cards on the top or bottom of your deck or your opponent’s deck.

LEADER: When a Leader card would be removed, if it has not been damaged during that turn by another Leader card, instead of sending it to the discard pile; return the card to your deck and shuffle it.

MOUNT: Cards in the Mount category can be linked to cards in the Rider category.

PILLAGE: When a card with the plunder ability attacks and survives; it steals a number of coins from the opponent equal to the indicated number.

PILOT: Cards in the Pilot category can be linked to cards in the Vehicle category.

REACTION: Cards in the Reaction category can be played on your opponent’s turn.

RIDER: Cards in the Rider category can be linked to cards in the Mount category.

SACRIFICE: You can pay all or part of the cost of a Sacrifice card by dealing damage to your cards in play. 1 damage is worth 1 coin.

SAILOR: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Sailor category.

SHOOTER: Cards with the Shooter category deal damage before cards that are not of the Shooter category and can attack cards of the Flying and Aquatic categories.

SONG: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Song category.

SYNTHETIC: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Synthetic category.

TERRAIN: Terrain cards provide advantages to the player who controls them. Terrain cannot be attacked as long as its owner has at least one creature on the front lines. When a terrain’s toughness is reduced to 0, the player who reduced it can choose between removing the terrain or taking it under their control.

TERRORSAUR: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Terrorsaur category.

THROWING: Throwing cards can damage flying creatures, but the card is removed in the process.

TOXICITY: When a card with the Toxicity ability deals damage to a creature, it also adds the indicated number of fatigue counters to it.

TYRANTSAURID: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Tyrantsaurid category.

VEHICLE: Cards in the Vehicle category can be linked to cards in the Pilot category.

WAR: Some cards specifically affect cards in the War category.

WAR CRY: The effect is activated once when the card enters the war front.

WARRIOR: Some cards specifically affect cards in the Warrior category.

WEAPON: Weapon cards can be linked to other card types to grant them their effects. If the card linked to the weapon is removed, the weapon is also removed.
